Learning outcomes

The aim of the course is to increase the interest of students of single-discipline studies in the chosen study plan by means of continuous field teaching. The content of the excursion appropriately complements and extends the theoretical knowledge that students acquire in the framework of theoretical teaching. Within the framework of a continuous multi-day excursion, which is usually conceived as a cross-border or foreign excursion, it is possible to compare the approaches of Czech and foreign heritage care, the ways of presenting museum and monument expositions, the interrelationship of art and heritage funds, etc. In view of the above, the traditional destinations of excursions include mainly neighbouring countries (the German Democratic Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Austria, Hungary).
The course graduate demonstrates the ability to link the theoretical knowledge acquired in the course with its practical application in a specific field context. The student understands the basic differences in approaches to heritage care in the Czech Republic and abroad, especially in the Central European region. Is able to analyse and compare ways of presenting heritage and museum exhibitions in a national and international context. He/she also understands the links between the art historical context and the care of cultural heritage in different countries. Develops skills of teamwork, independent observation and professional reflection during multi-day fieldwork. And orientation in professional terminology related to heritage care, museum presentation and cultural heritage in an international context.
