Course content
|
The teaching of the course in the combined form summarizes these topics by individual teaching blocks: 1. Professional text, ethics of scientific work, bibliography, citations, sources, EIR 2. Historical method, biographical method, cultural history 3. Memory studies, microhistory 4. Gender analysis, structural method, discursive analysis, narrative, philological method, modernity and postmodernity 5. Popularization, popular culture, communication in science The students of the combined form of study deal with the topics covered in the compulsory literature and especially in the course outline, the tasks assigned in the full-time part of the course or in the Moodle learning system, as well as on the basis of consultations with the teacher realized through the communication forum in Moodle or other electronic form.

Learning outcomes
|
The aim is to familiarize students with the principles of creating a professional text, its structure and types, and to learn the rules of ethics of scientific work. To master the work with bibliography, citations and sources, including the historical method. Understand specific historical methods. Gain an overview of current trends in historical research, its methodological diversity and the possibilities of professional application in academic and popular settings.
Upon completion of the course, the learner will be able to: -understand the basic rules of preparation of a professional text, its types and ethical principles of scientific work -explain the principles of historical method and the correct handling of sources and literature, including the rules of bibliographical citation -describe and distinguish between different research approaches in historiography and apply basic methods -reflect on the possibilities and limits of popularising history and its representation in popular culture -orientation in the ways of academic communication, functioning of scientific and professional institutions in the Czech Republic and abroad -evaluate the importance of bohemian research and opportunities for study or research in an international context
