The aim of the course is to introduce students to the theory and practice of documentation of historical buildings in the environment of conservation. Emphasis is placed on the practical acquisition of a basic portfolio of practical expertise and skills.
The student will gain knowledge about the basic methods of documentation of a specific type of immovable cultural monuments - historical buildings and will get acquainted with their use. The student will be able to orientate himself/herself in finding situations and choose appropriate methods and techniques for obtaining relevant data from historic buildings. The applicable output is a seminar paper in the form of a finding report on the inventory of architectural elements according to the certified methodology of the National Institute of Historical Research.
