Course content
|
The teaching of the course in combined form summarises the following topics in individual teaching blocks: 1. Monuments Act and its development 2. The activity of the territory guarantor and the problems of his work 3. the activity of the documenter and work in the field databases 4. Creation of an expert statement and proposal for declaration as a cultural monument 5. Structure of monument conservation in the Czech Republic Within the framework of self-study, students deal with the topics included in the compulsory literature and especially in the course outline, tasks assigned in the presentation part of the course or in the Moodle learning system, as well as on the basis of individual consultations with the teacher realized also through the communication forum in Moodle or other electronic form.

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the course is to familiarize students with the system of monument care in the Czech Republic. In addition to the basic acquaintance with the valid monument law, emphasis will be placed on the practical problems of the daily activities of a professional employee of the state monument care. The student will practically try to write a professional statement, create a proposal for the declaration of a cultural monument and will be confronted with the most pressing current topics in the field.
The student is able to orientate himself in the system of state monument care so that after graduation he will be familiar with all the professional activities carried out by this institution, which will facilitate a smooth transition to practice.

Assessment methods and criteria

Seminar work - the student creates a fictitious proposal for the declaration of a cultural monument. It is desirable for the student to be familiar with the basic terms of the field of art history and have an understanding of the sequence of art styles.
