Course content
The teaching of the course in the combined form summarizes these topics in individual teaching blocks:teaching blocks: 1. Renaissance architecture in Italy 2. Baroque architecture in Italy 2. 3. Renaissance architecture in Bohemia, Moravia and Silesia 4. Baroque architecture in Bohemia, Moravia and Silesia. Students work on selected topics and tasks assigned in the full-time part of the course. Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to introduce students to the basic features of the development of historical architecture in the time period from the beginnings of the Renaissance to the Baroque. The emphasis is on the historical development of architecture in Bohemia, in the general context of the major centres of European cultural development. A chronological overview of the development of architecture includes the main developmental features and characteristics of the architecture of the style and its styles, as well as an overview of the most important buildings, architects and builders. All this against the background of a brief historical framework that influenced the development of architecture in the periods under review.
The student will gain a basic overview of the characteristics and development of Renaissance and Baroque architecture in Bohemia, Moravia and Silesia. The student will be able to identify the characteristic features of historical architectural styles and their styles, he/she will be able to date historical architecture in a general way, he/she will know the basic development of architecture from the Renaissance to the Baroque. Can describe and interpret the characteristic buildings of these styles in the territory of the Czech Republic, can place them in time. The student is able to place a significant architect working in Bohemia, Moravia or the Moravian part of Silesia in time, to characterise his work and to list important buildings completed by him. Can characterise and time the application of the architectural style in Bohemia, Moravia and the Moravian part of Silesia, can name the architects working in this style and their most important buildings.

Seminar thesis - presentation with description, classification and evaluation of a typical building. Written test.
