Course content
|
The teaching of the course in a combined form summarises these topics in individual teaching blocks: 1. Building as a source and prehistoric architecture 2. Architecture of antiquity and early Christianity 3. Romanesque architecture 4. Gothic architecture Within the framework of self-study, students deal with topics covered in the required literature and especially in the course outline, tasks assigned in the attendance part of the course or in the Moodle learning system, as well as on the basis of individual consultations with the teacher, also realized through the communication forum in Moodle or other electronic form.

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the course is to acquaint the students with the basic points and features of the development of historical architecture in the time span from prehistoric times to the Gothic period with an emphasis on the historical development of domestic architecture in the general context of European historical and cultural development. The chronological overview of the development of architecture includes the main developmental features, the characteristics of the architecture of a given style and style, an overview of the most important buildings and a brief historical framework influencing the development of architecture in the relevant time period.
The student can identify the characteristic features of historical architectural styles and styles, he/she can date historical architecture, knows the basic development of architecture from prehistoric times to late Gothic.
