Course content
The teaching of the course in combined form summarises the following topics: 1. Theoretical introduction to the use of the method in the documentation of monuments. 2. The rules of working with the total station. 3. 2. 4. Processing the output of the field exercise in AutoCad. Students engage in self-study on topics covered in the required readings and the course outline. Individual consultation with the teacher takes place by email or in person during pre-arranged consultation hours.

Learning outcomes
The student will become familiar with the geodetic method of documentation of historical buildings theoretically, but also through basic practical training in the field. The student will gain a basic overview of the possibilities of using this method in heritage practice, also in combination with other methods of documentation of historical material sources. The student will be able to work independently with the total station and subsequent processing of its outputs in the AutoCad environment.
Practical surveying of a specific historical object using a geodetic total station and its subsequent processing in AutoCad into a 2D drawing documentation.
