Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the seminar is to map the development of legislative regulation within the territory of the Czech lands from the "National Revival of the Czechs" to the present day. Language policy is understood in a broad context; the learner, on the basis of historical sociolinguistics, will deal with, among other things, its social impacts.
Student - will get an insight into the issue of Czech-German society from the perspective of linguistic policy, - acquire theoretical sociolinguistic terms, definitions and gain an overview of the development of the German-Czech language policy of the last two centuries, - can analyze historical sources with regard to language issues and apply their theoretical knowledge in practice.
