Learning outcomes
Learning outcomes of this course unit is to familiarize the students with German phraseology, especially idiomatic expressions at the background of the phraseology of the mother tongue, and to provide them with selected linguistic and intercultural aspects of the research of the phraseological associations of contemporary German and Czech with parallel accentuation of equivalence, similarity and contrastivity criteria. The course focuses not only on the Czech-German perspective but also takes into account the wider European intercultural context (the so-called European phraseological internationalisms).
Students - are aware of the problems associated with phrasemes from the point of view of comparative linguistics, lexicography, metaphor and symbolism, - master a series of German traditional connections and, thanks to this, deepen its receptive and productive communicative competence in German, - are able to perceive the metaphor and symbolism contained in the phrasal links of both languages.
