Learning outcomes
Learning outcomes of the course unit The aim of the course is to convey the theoretical foundations and overview of Czech-German language contact, including its effects, both in its social and political and historical context. The regional linguistic contacts in Central and Eastern Europe and the mutual influences of German and Czech language are taken into account.
Student gains - knowledge of the development of German-Czech language contacts, - knowledge of the basics of historical linguistics, - competence to analyse historical sources.
