Learning outcomes
|
The course provides a general overview of the development of German children's literature, its main authors and works, with a special emphasis on more recent literature and themes. Students will examine their own reading experience while working with specific literary texts.
The student " Can define the concept of children's literature, its main aspects, typical genres and literary forms " Can describe the development of German children's literature, and can allocate the main works to individual literary periods " Can orient him/herself in the basic primary and secondary literature of the given discipline " Can, for a given topic, select a text and evaluate its appropriateness for the age, interests and linguistic competence of the target readership

To obtain credit - Independent home study of primary children's and young adults' literature texts - Analysis and interpretation of these texts in seminars, along with demonstrating the student's knowledge of the development and trends of the literature
