1. Important literary prizes and literary works awarded in recent years (Deutscher Buchpreis, Büchner-Preis, Alfred-Döblin-Preis, Chamisso/Hellerau-Preis, Ingeborg-Bachmann-Preis) 2. - 3. Works by NJO authors who have won the Nobel Prize for Literature since 2000 4. - 5. The theme of NS and the Holocaust in contemporary NJO literature 6. - 7. Current political and social themes in contemporary NJO literature 8. - 9. New forms: poetry slam, email novels, graphic novels, comics

Learning outcomes
|
The seminar focuses on the latest trends in German-language literature, introducing students to contemporary literary works that have attracted critical attention or received major literary prizes in recent years. On the basis of an analysis of these works, current tendencies and trends in NJO literature are deduced and current theoretical discourse is reflected upon.
The student is oriented in the current tendencies of German-language literature and is able to characterize and interpret them from the perspective of current literary discourse.
