Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to enhance students' knowledge about important literary works of German-language literature in the period from 1848 to 1945 and to develop their ability to analyze and adequately interpret these works. Students will be led to an informed reading of primary literature, representing the relevant literary epoch, tendency or important author, and to the application of acquired knowledge of literary historical context and literary terminology to the literary work. Emphasis will be placed on the development of analytical thinking in the oral and written presentations that will be based on the study of secondary sources. In the course, we will be dealing with epic forms such as novella, short story, novel and parable).
In this course, students will enhance their knowledge of important literary works of German literature in the period from 1848 to 1945. They will further develop the ability to analyze and adequately interpret these works based on reading, along with contextualizing the analyzed works. The course develops analytical thinking.
