The aim of this course is to prepare the students for independent creative work in the master's degree program, especially for writing diploma theses. In the seminars will be analysed the sample scientific/academic texts from the field of German studies. On the one side the students will be practising work procedures, on the other side they will learn how to acquire practical skills on the selected sample. Attention will be paid especially to the structure of texts, style, argumentation and formal aspects, including the formats of citation or the issues of compilation and plagiarism.
Students are ready to write academic texts, especially their master's theses. They are able to analyse academic texts, especially those about German language and/or literature, as well as to apply appropriate methods.
