Learning outcomes
The aim of the seminar is to deepen the knowledge of the basic translations and to familiarize students with the specific features of translation of technical texts (mainly technical, economic and legal) and popular texts, both from German into Czech and from Czech into German. In the seminar will be analysed and discussed the key translation procedures, the grammatical and stylistic principles of the translation work, the specific features of the construction of individual professional and popular educational texts and the issue of terminological equivalence.
Students are familiar with the main techniques of translation as well as with specific features of professional texts and of popular educational texts. They are ready to use their knowledge when translating authentic texts.
