Learning outcomes
|
Learning outcomes of this course unit is to introduce students to lexicology and word formation from the contrastive (especially Czech-German) point of view and deepen the theoretical knowledge of the German lexical plan acquired in the bachelor study programme and enrich them with a comparative point of view. This course will be focused on mediating linguistic and intercultural aspects of the lexical plan of contemporary German and Czech, or other selected languages, while accentuating the equivalence, similarity and contrastivity criteria. Based on the latest knowledge of linguistic research, the ability to view and reveal subtle lexical asymmetries and deeper insights into the subject matter will be developed.
At the end of the course the student - is able to understand and clarify the subject and objectives of comparative linguistics, - can explain the difficulties of translation of lexical units, - can look at the lexicon of German and Czech from a contrasting point of view and explain the essential differences between word formation of both the languages.
