Course content
1. Migration waves after 1945 and definition of relevant concepts 2. Migration wave after 1968, cultural-historical and literary context 3. Characteristics of individual author generations after 1968 4. Loss of Homeland I: Jiří Gruša - poems 5. The Loss of the Homeland II (Ota Filip, Libuše Moníková, Jan Faktor - novels) 6. Characters of migrants and hybrids at border I: Katja Fusek and Michael Stavarič 7. Character of Migrants and Hybrid Figures at Border II: Stanislav Struhar, Irena Brežná) 8. Influence of change of language I: experimental creation of J. Faktor, literature for children M. Stavarič, J. Konecny as poetry slammer 9. Influence of Language II: Language Explanation and "Intercultural Language" (J. Gruša, L. Moníková, J. Faktor) 10. Intertextual relations with Franz Kafka's work (J. Faktor, L. Moníková) 11. The youngest generation (Jaromír Rudiš, Milena Oda) 12. Problems of translations and bilingual versions (Ota Filip, Libuše Moníková, Jan Faktor, Michael Stavarič) 13. Learning outcomes
The course focuses on aspects of migration or migration emigration literature from the Czech lands after 1945, when part of the population is leaving abroad in connection with the political changes in the country (1948, 1968). Attention is paid mainly to the migratory wave in the German-speaking countries after 1968 and the influence of the change of language on the themes and the linguistic peculiarities of the literary works of these authors and authoresses.
Students - gain knowledge about the influence of the change of language on the theme and language of the literary work of the authors from Czechoslovakia - can analyse and interpret selected literary work from an intercultural point of view in a wider intercultural and Czech-German cultural-historical context
