Course content
|
The course covers four textbook chapters (5. - 8. Aspekte B2). In connection with the discussed topics all language skills will be practiced. Based on learners´ needs only some textbook modules can be highlighted and additional materials can be delivered. Basic topics: 1. Science, research 2. Culture and art, history, personalities 3. Lifestyle 4. History, stories

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of this course is to improve and develop the speaking skills, perfect the grammar skills, extend the vocabulary, practice independent speaking and writing and learn about the German speaking countries. Level B2 of the CEFR is required.
Student " knows the vocabulary and grammar related to the discussed topics " can understand popular science books, reviews, positive and negative artwork evaluation " can write an essay and an informal letter/email with argumentation " can look up and summarize information from many sources and based on it read a paper, give reasons, dispute and present own opinion.

Prerequisites

The exam in Communicative Competence II can be taken only if students have earned credits in both subjects (Communicative Competence I and II).

Assessment methods and criteria
|

Credit requirements: Active participation, students must successfully complete required tasks - three writings (essay - argumentative writing, informal letter/email), basis of a paper/presentation, presentation, credit test (70%). Exam requirements: The exam comprises only a spoken part. Students are required to show their ability to comment everyday life topics, give reasons and present their own opinion.
