Learning outcomes
|
The course provides an introduction to basic methodological procedures of language device learning and development of basic language skills. The course emphasizes linking the linguistic-didactic theory with teaching experience at relevant school type as well as skills development in lesson planning, teaching and evaluation. Students will prepare lesson simulations based on a chosen topic, aims and nature of the target group. Written documentation (lesson plan, teaching materials, exercises, tasks, etc.) should be submitted to the tutor and the classmates to present the simulations (outputs, microteaching).
Student " is able to plan, teach and evaluate the lesson with respect to the chosen aim " is able to apply a comprehensive approach to foreign language teaching, including reflection on own role as a foreign language teacher both at primary and secondary school " based on theoretical knowledge student is able to provide language devices sensitively and competently and develop basic speaking skills in the background of an intercultural communicative method " is able to prepare lesson simulations according to the chosen topic, aims and nature of the target groups.

Assessment methods and criteria

Credit requirements: Active participation in seminars, a seminar paper (1-2 standard pages) in German on current topics contained in scientific magazines. Output (microteaching). Exam requirements: Students are required to respond orally to two topics from the curriculum which had been discussed in Didactics I and Didactics II.
