1. Czech-Saxon border in its geographical and historical context 2. History of Czech-Saxon relations from its beginnings in the early Middle Ages to the present 3. Cultural aspects of Czech-Saxon relations: literature 4. Cultural aspects of Czech-Saxon relations: fine arts and music 5. Current issues and topics of Czech-Saxon relations Two full-day field trips in the footsteps of Czech-Saxon relations: e.g. Meissen, Dresden, the mountain region of the Ore Mountains, Bautzen, etc.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with various aspects of Czech-Saxon relations (history, culture, politics, etc.) and to demonstrate these topics on two full-day field trips to the Saxon border.
Students will expand their intercultural Czech-Saxon competence in various areas, they will become familiar with current issues of Czech-Saxon relations.
