Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the course is to apply the knowledge gained in the course Grammar I in texts, and to systematically practice selected phenomena in exercises. Attention will be paid to morphematic analysis and more difficult grammatical phenomena such as the use of verb tenses, passive and active voice, and grammatical moods, expressing modality, declension of nouns, use of articles for nouns, declension of adjectives and use of prepositions will be practiced. Grammar exercises I will both complement the content of the course Grammar I, and follow on the content of the courses Grammar Proseminar I and Grammar Proseminar II.
Students will learn the morphology of German, morphemes and their classification, selected word classes, and their grammatical categories. They will be able to use basic linguistic terminology, and to apply the gained knowledge in German in their own written and oral expression, and in the analyzed texts.
