The aim of the seminar is to acquaint students with selected works of contemporary German-language literature on the example of the film versions and to compare them. Both the medium of film and the medium of literary text work with different artistic means. The seminar will monitor the extent to which the film versions managed to preserve the original meaning of the book, where there were major shifts or modifications with regard to the text, and the extent to which these changes in the film version are meaningful and beneficial. At the beginning of the seminar, students will choose 3 literary works and their film adaptations from the current offer according to their preferences, which will then be the subject to an in-class-analysis.
