Learning outcomes
The lecture and the seminar introduce the historically oriented Germanobohemistic literary and cultural science issues. It introduces with concrete examples the institutions of public and cultural life (theatres, museums, scientific institutions, universiry, newspapers, magazines, publishing houses, societies and informal circles of authors, cafés, etc.) in which Czech-German intercultural exchange, the famous "meeting and encounter", but also silence or ostentatious ignorance took place. In addition to this, a whole plethora of personalities from Czech, German, Jewish and "Utraquist" backgrounds will be presented who contributed to this unusually fruitful, internally structured and systematic dialogue. Special attention will be paid to the North Bohemian region and Prague.
- gain an orientation on specific topics of cultural relations between Czech Germans and Czechs in the era of nationalism - learns to use terminology and methods of working with texts and secondary literature through concrete examples - deepen their knowledge of research perspectives and terminology in the field of intercultural German studies and Germanobohemistics
