Learning outcomes
The course focuses on syntax and marginally on structures which unexpectedly shift in grammar. The aim of the course is to improve language skills (e.g. punctuation, correct order of parts of a sentence, correct formation of parts of a sentence and sentence formation, using deictic words in a sentence and text etc.), to learn the basic description methods of grammar structures on the level of clauses, basic terminology. This course will provide students with theoretical knowledge of syntax. This will allow them to reflect sentence and text structure based on methodology and terminology of relevant linguistics disciplines, analyze sentences and texts and describe main aspects of sentence structure and text composition.
Student " will improve their sentence structure and text composition skills " is well informed about theories of syntax, which enable him/her to understand the issue connected with syntactic feature abstraction " is able to analyze a sentence based on related literature and to form grammatically correct statements.
Prerequisites
Morphology I Morphology II The exam can be taken only if the student has obtained credits in both seminars (Syntax I and II).
