Learning outcomes
|
The goal of the subject Media Analysis is insight into the possibilities of mass media and media content research. The presentation will be devoted to methodological procedures and the most widespread possibilities of analysis of media, media contents and audiences. The subject will focus on familiarizing the work with research methods and their subsequent application in one?s own research.
The student will become familiar with the issue of media research. They will learn to use methodological procedures in their work. Student will be able to understand individual research areas of the media process.

Assessment methods and criteria

The following are required for successful completion of the course 1) Completion of an assignment which will be assessed on: a) Adherence to the indicative time limit; b) Method of presentation; c) handout (submitted electronically); d) Sources; e) preparation for discussion. Total up to 10 points (minimum 6 points required to pass the mid-term). 2) Active participation in discussions (passive physical presence does not earn activity points): 5 to 7 points possible (minimum of 2 points required to pass the course). 3) Successful completion of the mid-term exam: Up to 10 points possible (minimum of 6 points required to pass). A minimum of 14 points is required to pass the course overall, with the published minimum for each section.
