The thematic plan of the course is as follows: 1. Introduction to philosophy 2. Introduction to ethics 3. Ethical theories overview 4. Epicureanism 5. Utilitarianism 6. Deontology 7. Ethics of virtues 8. Who are we? (Who is a human being?) 9. The problem of the person (Moral and legal status of the embryo) 10. Death as a topic of philosophy and science 11. The course is focused on deepening the orientation in the topics of contemporary ethics and its applicability to specific current topics, such as the problem of surrogacy, moral status of the embryo, etc. by its nature it transcends the academic ground and interferes in everyday life. The purpose of the course is not only to introduce basic ethical theories and solutions to fundamental ethical issues, but also to show the ambiguity of such solutions and the ambiguity of the acceptance of the ethical system.
Students will gain an overview of basic ethical theories. They will acquire the conceptual equipment needed to understand ethical issues. Can argue independently. They will acquire the ability to understand texts and to argue and think independently within ethics. |
