Course content
1. Diversity and controversy in society. 2. When a social and political issue becomes controversial; problem analysis. 3. Model situation, discussion: Individual rights - social good. 4. Individual identity and social diversity. 5. Model situation: Identity and social diversity. 6. Why diversity and controversy are important in a democracy. 7. Identification of controversial social issues. 8. Work with case studies: Conflicts of life roles of an individual. 9. Individual and multiculturalism: work with texts. 10. Interethnic reality in contemporary Europe. 11. Model situation, discussion: Right to asylum. 12. Unipolarity in today's world. 13. Case studies: International threats, international terrorism. 14. Seminar on a topic selected by students.

Learning outcomes
The course is based mainly on the analysis of the term "controversial topics", on an interactive approach to the topics of individual lessons. It will enable students to work with diversity of opinion, to form and formulate their own attitudes through model situations.
