1. The concept of religion 2. Religion and spirituality 3. Divinity, sacredness, transcendence 4. History of religion and secularization 5. Atheism 6. Religious studies as a science and its methods 7. Basic questions of Judaism and Christianity 8. Basic questions of Islam 9. Basic questions of Hinduism and Buddhism 10. New religiosity, new religious movements and new religions 11. Sectarianism 12. Classical religions in Czech society 13. New religions in Czech society 14. Processes of influence between secular and religious sphere

Learning outcomes
The course deals with the basic areas of interest in religious studies. It analyzes the basic concepts and presents the religious studies as a science. On selected religious systems will be demonstrated the ways and methods in the religious studies
Familiarity with religious studies as a science. Knowledge of basic methods of religion. Acquisition of critical thinking about religion. Ability to orientate in basic questions of study of religion. The art of distinguishing current issues in the relationship of man and religiosity.
