The course will broaden the basic courses in religious studies while reading systematically and thoroughly selected sources of the major religious traditions (Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism, Confucianism, Taoism). It will also take into account significant movements within individual systems. In addition, students will read sources representing the newer religious movements (anthroposophy, Modern Paganism).
Student will acquire the following academic knowledge: - can analyze sources for Religious Studies - understand the influence of ancient traditions in Western thought - gain individual attitude to different types of thinking and life's work - gain the ability to think critically about religion
