1. Introduction to the course - When does the topic become controversial? 2. Clash of life roles - demonstration lesson OV / ZSV, its analysis 3. What topics in today's society can be described as controversial? 4. Which topics of civic education or basics of social sciences is beneficial to open as topics controversial? 5. Refugees and asylum - demonstration lesson OV / ZSV, its analysis. 6. What methods and forms of work are effective in teaching controversial topics? 7. Controversial topics - discussion - project teaching. 8. Is there a problem? - demonstration lesson OV / ZSV, its analysis. 9. Case studies, work with film in teaching controversial topics. 10. Sample lesson for students chosen controversial topic from OV / ZSV, its analysis. 11. Why deal with controversial topics in the teaching of civics or social basics sciences? 12. -14. Learning outcomes
The course is based mainly on the analysis of the term "controversial topics", on an interactive approach to the topics of individual lessons. It will enable students to work with diversity of opinion, to form and formulate their own attitudes through model situations. At the pedagogical level, it represents an opportunity for students to develop their pedagogical skills in working with these topics in civics (OV) / social sciences (ZSV) classes. Within the course, students will get acquainted with various forms of discussion, debate, problem and project teaching.
- Ability to identify controversial social issues - Ability to analyze current political and social issues - skills to work with case studies - the ability to participate in or lead various public debates and debates - knowledge of problem and project teaching and work with controversial topics in the teaching of ZSV

Assessment methods and criteria

At least 80% participation. Written analysis of a selected controversial topic, search of literature and other information sources. Oral and PowerPoint presentation of a selected controversial topic and its pedagogical elaboration.
