Thematic plan of the course is following: 1. Introduction into philosophical and aesthetical thinking, initial thoughts, aesthetics as philosophy discipline 2. Division and introducing of fields of fine arts - aesthetics, general art theory, the philosophy of art 3. Anglo-Saxon analytically orientated aesthetics vs. continental aesthetics 4. Anglo-Saxon aesthetics (Weitz, Dickie, Danto) 5. The subject of aesthetics and methods of aesthetic analysis 6. Art and outside art aesthetics 7. Aesthetic subject and its characteristics 8. The aim of the course is to introduce the students to the main special aesthetic terminology, its methods as well themes of main ethical systems (Anglo-American analytically orientated aesthetics, continental philosophical tradition). The course introduces the students to main terms of this discipline and options of its applicability on the contemporary art as well as broad sphere of aesthetic outside the art. It will introduce students to the main topics, division of fine arts disciplines and their opportunities. The course introduces briefly students with the history of aesthetics and its present state.
A student will gain the overview in main aesthetic theories. He/she will develop the term basis needed for understanding of aesthetic sciences. He/she will be capable of independent argumentation. He/she will develop the ability to understand the texts and discuss and think independently within aesthetics. |
