Democracy as a part of European heritage. - Who creates and who runs a democratic society? - How do democracies arise, develop, function? 5. - 7. Democracy as a way of life, as a value. - Citizen in a democratic society - what is the status of a citizen of a democratic society? - Civil society in a modern state - what are the possibilities of a citizen in a democratic society? - What values and principles are important for the citizen of a democratic society? - What are the rights, freedoms and obligations of a citizen of a democratic society and what are their guarantees and possibilities of protection? - What basic values and principles are necessary for today's democracies? 8. - 10. Democracy as a discussion - democratic ways of resolving conflicts and problems. 11. - 14. Democracy in today's world. - What conditions contribute to the development of democracy? - What threatens current democracies (internal situation)? - What threatens current democracies (external situations)? - World citizens and the global civic sector? - How do contemporary democracies affect the world and how does the world shape the shape of contemporary democracies?

Learning outcomes
|
The goal is to enable students to reflect through an interactive approach on their relationship to the role of the citizen and to the political system, its basic principles and current issues of the position and role of world democracies in today's world.
Students will develop skills - to analyze democracy as a political system, as a way of life, as a value -to critically assess the role of the citizen in a democratic system and reflect on his relationship to this role - to identify and analyze the role of world democracies today - to think about the possibilities of solving selected current issues.
