Course content
1. Economic systems: State - companies - consumers. 2. Economic policy 3. Public goods and externalities 4. Concepts of the relationship between the state and the market (economic policy, public policy, regulation, public choice, behavioral policy) 5. Regulation - state intervention 6. Impact assessment of state interventions. Regulatory impact assessment (RIA) 7. CBA - cost-benefit analysis as the main tool for impact analysis 8. The concept of Better Regulation in the EU 9. Fundamentals of public choice, i.e., basic characteristics of voting, the voting paradox, and the median voter 10. Information asymmetry (adverse selection, moral hazard) and the principal-agent problem 11. Political and economic cycle and interest groups 12. Welfare state - Indicators for evaluating the state and the economy 13. Goldplating and Lobbying

Learning outcomes
The course follows the lecture in Economics I, Economics II, as well as in the History of Economic Thought (alternative social and economic theory). The "economic policy" will extend and deepen the previously discussed questions about new selected perspectives. The aim of the course is to get students acquainted with the development of perspectives on the often frequent and current special segments of this issue and thus give an impulse to their independent and creative analysis.
