Course content
1. Didactics of the field in the system of pedagogical disciplines. 2. Organization of the curriculum of the educational fields of Education for Citizenship (VO) and Civic and Social Sciences (OSZ) in pedagogical documents. Specifics of education for citizenship and social sciences. 3. Key elements of an effective civics lesson and basics of social sciences. 4. Didactic analysis of sociological curriculum within VO and OSZ; analysis of a sample lesson. Didactic analysis of psychological curriculum within VO and OSZ; analysis of a sample lesson. Didactic analysis of political science and legal curriculum within VO and OSZ; analysis of a sample lesson. 5. Didactic analysis of economic curriculum at primary and secondary school; analysis of a sample lesson. Didactic analysis of political science and legal curriculum within VO and OSZ; analysis of a sample lesson. 6. How to teach philosophy? 7. Effective teaching methods and forms of work in civics lessons and basics of social sciences. 8. Projects and programs suitable for civic education and basics of social sciences. 9. Analysis of existing textbooks and teaching materials for civic education and basics of social sciences. 10. Pupil's personality and possibilities of development of his / her key competencies within civic education and basics of social sciences (cognitive and axiological level of social science topics). 11. Teacher's personality and challenges of educational fields VO and OSZ.

Learning outcomes

Students will gain knowledge of the educational content of Civic and Social Sciences Foundations and begin to develop didactic knowledge of the educational content of social science subjects as well as pedagogical skills

The student will have a maximum of 2 excused absences. The student prepares assignments for the portfolio prepared for individual seminars. During the interview, the student defends the written outputs and preparation of the teaching unit and the portfolio kept during the course.
