1. Alphabet, pronunciation, vowels and diphthongs, breathing, accent 2. Reading practice 3. - 4. Lesson I: Article; first and second declension; verbs: present tense, active voice, imperative; adjectives; the verb einai 5. - 6. Lesson II: third declension; prepositions; numerals; personal pronouns 7. - 8. Lesson III: contracted verbs: present tense, indicative and imperative; contracted adjectives 9. - 10. Lesson IV: middle voice, third-declension adjectives; adverbs; comparison of adjectives and adverbs 11. - 12. Lesson V: pronouns; plural neuter 13. revision

Learning outcomes
The course aims to acquaint students with basic grammatical phenomena and basic vocabulary and teach them to read and translate selected ancient Greek texts (e.g. Aristotle's Categories). During the first semester, students should master five lessons from the textbook Peckett, C. W. E. - Munday, A. R., Thrasymachus.
The student will gain the following professional skills: - masters grammar and vocabulary of Lessons 1 - 5 from the textbook C. W. E. Peckett, A. R. Munday, Thrasymachus. - can read and translate simple Greek texts
