The course concentrates on medieval conceptions of being, truth, good, and also on the relation between philosophy (or science) and faith in various periods of the Middle Ages and Renaissance. The course presents the medieval understanding of human life and observes the remaining heritage of these ideas in the European thinking.
Student acquires orientation in the philosophical story of the Middle Ages and the Renaissance, general knowledge of main problems of these philosophical periods, ability to recognize the historical origins of some constant topics of the European thinking. |
