1) Introduction into the subject, topics and literature 2) God in the context of modern gnoseology I: Descartes' arguments for God's existence 3) God in the context of modern gnoseology II: God as a guarantor of the truth of knowledge 4) The Personal God: Pascal's "Memorial" and "Pascal's Wager" 5) Spinoza's pantheism and the concept of intellectual love of God I: Basic concepts of Spinoza's ontology, the holistic nature of his thinking 6) Spinoza's pantheism II: The concept of intellectual love of God and Spinoza's philosophical psychotherapy 7) Leibniz's theodicea: God and the principle of sufficient reason 8) Practical knowledge of God: God as a postulate in Kant's practical philosophy 9) God in German natural philosophy: Schelling's late religious philosophy 10) Philosophical atheism I: Marx 11) Philosophical Atheism II: Nietzsche 12) Summarizing colloquium

The aim of the course is to get acquainted with various approaches to the thematization of God in the philosophy of 17-19. century.
The student has a deep understanding of the issue of God's existence and its importance in European, philosophical thinking 17.-19. century.
