Phenomenology is one of the two main philosophical projects of the 20th century. Its leaders - Husserl, Heidegger, Merleau-Ponty, Patočka and others - influenced significantly other humanities and social science besides philosophy. We shall study the basics with emphasis on the interwar period.
After successfully passing the course, students will be able to teach phenomenology on elementry level (load 8-10 hours). They will be ready for mediate advanced study of continental philosophy. They will be able to study phenomenological writings on their own.
