|
Reading of Aristotle's Politiky using a Greek text and using contemporary commentaries and interpretations. Students will get acquainted not only with the basic principles of Aristotle's practical philosophy, but also with various possibilities of interpretation of the classical text corresponding to the current results of philosophical research. Attention will be focused especially on those parts of Aristotle's conception that are alive in today's philosophical discussion.
Knowledge of basic concepts of Aristotle's theory of politichs, ability to interpret ancient texts with the help of secondary literature.

Knowledge of Aristotle's philosophy in the scope of the basic course of the history of ancient philosophy.

Attendance 60%, presentation. An essay in the range of min. 7 pages, using two additional secondary sources.
