Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to present archival documents of various provenance and character (official books, files, building plans, maps) that can be used in historical research on a village house in modern Bohemia - whether it is about identifying ownership relationships, the extent of the farm or the building form of the building. The teaching will be primarily focused on sources and information from them that can be used in compiling an archival research of a building-historical survey. An integral part of the course will be a practical exercise consisting of reading and interpreting selected examples of archival documents.
Students will gain an overview of archival sources (written, cartographic, iconographic) that can be used to understand the rural house in the modern era. They will then be able to recognize, interpret and search for these sources in the relevant archives.
Prerequisites
Knowledge of paleography and German.

Active participation in the lecture and the subsequent seminar is expected, where students will read and interpret practical examples of the archival documents under study. Based on the practical work in the seminar, students will receive credit for the course.
