The presentation will be structured according to the following subject areas: 1) What is the history of science? 2) The habitus of a scientist 3) Women in science. Gender studies 4) Interdisciplinarity in science 5) Universities and the Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences 6) Scientific societies

Learning outcomes
The aim of the compulsory elective course is to enrich students' knowledge in the field of the history of modern Czech science and university education. Students will be shown relevant sources, methodological approaches, questions and topics reflected in the history of science through selected personalities of modern Czech science. At the same time, they will become familiar with the basic literature on the given issue.
Students will gain a basic overview of the history of science. The topic will be presented as broadly as possible, including the history of scientific theories, scientific fields (disciplines) or individual scientific institutions (universities, ČAVU, KČSN, ČSAV, etc.) and their components; as well as the role of scientists in society, culture, politics, etc.

Passing the course based on an oral interview, for which it is necessary to submit a list of literature (at least three titles, one of which will be a monograph).
