Learning outcomes
The course will introduce a specific part of Czech archival science, namely sources in the so-called agricultural-forestry archives, i.e. in the archives of former estates, noble family archives and organizations managing state forests in several aspects.
The student will gain a broad overview of written and iconographic sources stored in the so-called agricultural and forestry departments of the Czech archives. Graduates will thus be able to orient themselves in the composition of the material stored here and at the same time understand why certain documents are stored here, which will facilitate their subsequent study in the archives. They will gain an idea of patrimonial administration and, within the framework of practical exercises with the character of paleographic-diplomatic practice, will master working with written sources from the 16th to the 20th century.
