Theoretical knowledge acquired in completed courses must be deepened by independent practice in a selected archive - here it is possible to choose essentially any type of archive, whether it is at the level of district, regional, National Archives or specialized archives. The choice of an archive for practice is not imposed on students, its choice also depends on their place of residence and communication options. However, its choice must be made in agreement with the guarantor. During the practice, the student will be introduced to the relevant workplace and its scope of work. He will be taken to the depository, if possible, and will be introduced to the funds that the relevant archive keeps. He should also have the opportunity to become familiar with the relevant program in which archival materials are organized and made accessible, and with the organizing practice itself; ideally, also with the work of the archive with individual originators (archival inspections, shredding procedures).
The student will be able to apply the theoretical background acquired in individual courses in practice. |
