Learning outcomes
The concept of the course content follows the course Selected Chapters from the History of Administration I. In this case too, there will be lectures that provide a view of selected problems in the history of administration in the period from the 19th to the 21st century in the form of partial probes into selected problems. The younger period of administration either follows on from previous developments or, on the contrary, tries to completely detach itself from them and create a new model. Among the typical elements of the changes in administration in the territory of the Czech state in this period, it is necessary to mention the alternation of small and large administrative units and their respective authorities with greater or lesser spatial competences. The change in administrative ties also brings a change in the understanding of the identity of the population with a particular administrative unit. While in a certain period the municipalities belong to the near center of the region, after the reform and integration into a higher territorial unit they may find themselves on the periphery. The consequences of administrative changes will be monitored in selected locations within Bohemia. At the same time, various research approaches and, last but not least, the relevant source base will be presented. Examples of sources and working with them will be an important part of the course.
Students will gain advanced orientation in the issues of modern administrative history.
