1. Morphology of Neo-Gothic Italic. 2. The emergence of humanistic and Neo-Gothic script. 3. Neo-Gothic script of the 16th - 17th centuries in German texts. 4. Neo-Gothic script of the 17th - 18th centuries in German texts. 5. Printed German Neo-Gothic script.

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the course is a) to review and consolidate knowledge about the development of Latin paleography; b) to acquire active knowledge of the Neo-Gothic cursive script and to confidently read Neo-Gothic cursive from 16th - 20th century paleographically demanding, cursorily and non-calligraphically written texts of a diplomatic nature; c) to apply basic diplomatic terminology to the texts being discussed and read.
Expanding knowledge about the development of the Latin script, knowledge of the duct of minuscule and majuscule letters of Neo-Gothic cursive and the resulting skill of reading it more reliably and safely.

Prerequisites
|
Orientation in auxiliary historical sciences, mastery of the basics of Latin, ability to translate and understand German texts of a diplomatic nature.
