Learning outcomes
|
As part of this course, students will be introduced to a basic overview of auxiliary historical sciences, including basic methodological principles, recommended literature, and the history of individual disciplines. The aim is to present this corpus as a whole and explain its close interconnection and applicability in historiographical work. Nine disciplines traditionally regarded as part of this corpus in Czech historiography will be presented in succession (paleography, diplomatics, sphragistics, heraldry, codicology, epigraphy, genealogy, historical chronology, and metrology).
Students will master a basic overview of auxiliary historical sciences, including basic methodological principles, recommended literature, and the history of individual disciplines. Students will understand this corpus as a whole and will be able to explain the close interconnection between individual disciplines and their applicability in historiographical work.
